I don't know about you, but as I get older, I am becoming increasingly lazy with my makeup. I used to put so much effort into my glams, but these days, my routine typically consists of three products—maybe four if I am feeling fancy. Blame it on the post-pandemic lifestyle. But what if I told you I uncovered a one-and-done product that can be used practically everywhere across your face and will leave you with stunning radiance all day? Sounds like sorcery, right? It's not. Legendary makeup pro Bobbi Brown made it happen with the
Miracle Balm
from her viral Jones Road makeup line.
This aptly-named product is a skincare-makeup hybrid that provides a punch of hydration to skin (shoutout to jojoba and argan oil!) while delivering a fresh touch of pigment to the face. While it does have balm in its name, the formula actually has a creamy consistency that feels weightless and layers seamlessly onto skin.
The key to unlocking the "miracle" lies in "breaking the seal": You'll have to gently press a finger or two into the center until the surface cracks. Then it's free rein from there. You can layer the Miracle Balm over your foundation for a hint of glow, you can wear it alone on skin, you can use it on your lids in place of an eyeshadow, you can put it on your lips, you can even apply it to your neck and décolletage. Depending on your makeup preference, you can also easily build from sheer to full coverage. That's the beauty of this little pot of creamy goodness—it's the epitome of dab-and-go makeup. (Though if you prefer not to apply makeup with your fingers, it can be used with a sponge or brush.)
There are nine tinted shades to choose from, all of which provide a fresh-faced finish, as well as a clear option for a "your-skin-but-better" look. My favorite of the bunch is Miami Beach, a coral-peachy color with subtle gold shimmer, which I use as a blush; it delivers a warm natural tint to cheeks that looks natural and feels hydrating. I like to use that in tandem with Magic Hour, which is sheer, shimmery bronze that acts as a highlighter.
I've been using Miracle Balm most days for the last three months and it's become the product I grab for most. Instead of spending 20-25 minutes in front of the vanity everyday to perfect my look, a few dabs across my cheekbones, eyelids, and lips always gets the job done in five minutes flat. And that's what I call a miracle.
